Fashion Degree

Many of you probably don’t know that you can actually obtain a fashion degree, and even more exciting is that you can earn one online. So no longer a student has to study in London, Milan or New York, you can earn a fashion design degree from your own home. These degrees allow you to enter a job with runway gigs, photo shoots, clothing lines, agencies and fashion magazines. The U.S. Bureau of Labor states a fashion designer’s income is steadily increasing to well over $50,000 median.

• The Art Institute of Pittsburgh has an online Bachelor of Science degree program in fashion and retail management.
• Ashworth College has an online associate’s degree program in retail management and a Bachelor of Science degree program in marketing.
• The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising has an online degree in merchandise marketing. Students can apply year-round.
• The Fashion Institute of Technology, part of the State University of New York, offers an online two-year associate’s degree program in fashion merchandising management. Several similar degrees can be earned through blended (online and offline) learning.
• Penn Foster Career School has online career diploma programs in dressmaking and design as well as interior decorating.
• Savannah College of Art and Design offers a master’s degree in interior design through e-learning.
• Westwood College provides an online bachelor of arts program in interior design through its school of design, and an online bachelor’s in fashion merchandising through its school of business. The school’s accelerated schedule permits students to earn a bachelor’s degree in just three years.
